President swears-in President
The President of the Sierra Leone Labor Congress, M.A Deen on Friday, 11th July, 2014 swore in the newly-elected president and executive of the Sierra Leone Dock Workers Union.
The swearing in ceremony took place at the Seafarers Complex at Lower Savage Square in Freetown.
The newly-sworn in president is Sulaiman Alpha Bundu and other members of the executive are the Secretary-General, Alieu Fofana, the Assistant Secretary-General Ferdinand Valentine, the Treasurer, Zainab Mansaray, the Financial Secretary, Abdul Karim Sesay, the Internal Auditor, Ishmail Conteh and Public Relations Officer, Alieu Mangay Turay.
While swearing in the new president and his executive, the Labor Congress President called on members of the new executive to work hard and lift the union from its present state of disunity and rancor to a point of unity and stability.
He urged them to develop modern investment strategies which will attract a prudent use of their resources for the benefit of their membership.
The newly-sworn-in president emphasized that their election was surrounded by challenges which they were able to overcome. He concluded by thanking the members who voted them to office and the five-man committee which conducted the election.
