This acknowledgement came as Maltina took one of the biggest nationwide Iftar promotions as a way of celebrating with the Muslims and strengthening the relationship between the Maltina brand and the Muslims during this holy month.
In her address to the Muslim community, Miss Theresa Musa, Maltina Brand Manager pointed out that Maltina entered into the Sierra Leone market in 1993 with a vision to remain the nation’s leading malt drink. She disclosed that more than 15 years down the line, Maltina has still remained the nation’s most preferred malt drink.
Miss Musa went on to state that over the years Maltina has been dynamic and continued to innovate and meet the consumers demand and expectations.
She said the main reason for this iftar promotion of Maltina is to strengthen the relationship between the Muslims consumers and the Maltina brand. It is also our way of giving back to the community as partners for growth.
“We are here to associate and connect the brand with you, our revered Muslims brothers and sisters during this holy month of Ramadan.”
The promotion which took the form of Iftar, she added is part of their corporate social responsibility. Financial donations were made to several mosques which were used to prepare food for the fasting period. She said the promotion started on the 30th of June 2014 in Makeni and moved to Bo, Kenema and Kono. The gesture of Maltina was welcomed by the Muslim community. They pointed out while giving their thanks that Maltina took them by surprise and such gesture goes a long way for them.
Sheik Konneh of central Mosque Kenema in his remarks thanked Maltina for such a wonderful gesture. Also the imam of central Mosque Kono thanked the management of Maltina Company for their support towards the Muslims and community at large.
Miss Musa disclosed further that five populated Mosques around Freetown will also be featured for the iftar promotion. She reminded the Muslims that Maltina is a non-alcoholic malt drink, rich in essential vitamins and minerals which will provide the extra nourishment needed during this holy month of Ramadan. She encouraged them to cultivate the habit of drinking one or more pints of Maltina before the fasting starts and when they break fast as that will keep them healthy and strong throughout the month.
Miss Musa, Maltina Brand Manager said this is just the start as they are determined to foster the relationship with the Muslims consumers even after the month of Ramadan. She added that Maltina’s delicious, rich and creamy taste can be enjoyed by everyone, every time!
We only hope that the preferred relationship with Maltina will continue!!
