Lahoud’s Union defeat New England for semi-final spot

Philadelphia Union take a 2-0 victory over New England Revolution in the quarterfinals, goals from Conor Casey and Sebastien Let Toux early in the first and second half respectively to reach the semi-finals of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

Heavy rain and lightning interrupted the match for almost an hour soon after the second half.

Sierra Leone midfielder Michael Lahoud was the only change made by Interim Manager Jim Curtin, replacing him with Brian Carroll.

Michael 27 was sent off in their previous victory over New York Cosmos while playing in central midfield.

He has been included in the Sierra Leone squad for the Seychelles encounter for the ongoing 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Freetown July 19 2014.

This will marks Lahoud’s fourth national team call up for Sierra Leone. He was part of the squad in both matches against Swaziland.

Previously was selected to play in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Sept 7, 2013 against Equatorial Guinea.
