Northern Polytechnic boycotts national sport meeting
It was recently reported to this media house that Northern Polytechnic group in Makeni, northern regional town of Sierra Leone boycotted a very important three days meeting that was held between May 27 to May 30 this year at the National stadium in Freetown.
It was disclosed that the meeting was geared towards bringing Colleges and Vocational institutions together to help tap out young athletes for the promotion of Sports in the country.
In an exclusive interview with the Assistant Director of Physical Health Education (PHE) in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Mr. Sahid Mohamed Conteh, he revealed to our reporter that the aim of the Physical Health Education department in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is to nurture talents of young athletes and that these talented athletes will later be promoted to officials at the for further national and international sports practices.
Furthermore, Mr. Conteh disclosed that Colleges like FBC, Njala, MMCET and other tertiary institutions in the country took part in the meeting.
It was evident that the meeting at the national stadium was in high form of competition and that talents of young athletes were noted by various sporting official that were in attendance of the lively sports meeting.
Sahid Mohamed Conteh calls on the people of the country to give their support to the various sporting activities in the country and that will help in the positive rive of our youthful populace.
