Sierra Leone International resourceful defender David Simbo (in photo) was very much instrumental for his AL-Hilal side in the ongoing 2014 CAF Champions league last Friday.

Hosts Al-Hilal of Sudan defeated four-time champions TP Mazembe of the DR Congo 1-0 in a group stage, Midfielder Salah Al Jizoli headed home the only goal of the game after 51 minutes, played out in front of a capacity crowd at the Khartoum Stadium.

The win allows Al-Hilal to perch on top of Group A joint three points as AS Vita of DR Congo also defeated Zamalek of Egypt.

David Simbo 24, was very please with his perfomace throughout  90minute, he was out of Sierra leone away 2015 CAN qualifier in Swaziland that ened 1-1 due to club duties.

The former Boden and Sandviken defener knew they needed to claim victory in order to have a chance of pipping the likes of Zamalek, TP Mazembe and AS Vita in their group.

“Our victory against TP Mazembe was enormous for our fans, I’m please with my contribution in a tough encounter like this and hope to make an additional tough clash in Egypt agaisnt Zamalek,

 “You don’t ask for more winning against a four time African champions TP Mazembe and is a dream experiencing the Champions League,” he told SEM Sport UK.

Meanwhile, DR Congo’s AS Vita Club beat Egypt’s Zamalek 2-1 in the African Champions League on Sunday in Kinshasa.
