Sierra Leoneans acclaim Hon. Kemoh Sesay

A cross-section of Sierra Leoneans closely monitoring the activities of Political and Public Affairs Minister, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay (in photo) have heaped praise on him.

Kemoh Sesay was the brainchild in fostering peace between the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Isha Johansen and the football legend, Mohamed Kallon recently.

The fracas between the two football stakeholders started at the football Academy in Kingtom with some sections of the media and football stakeholders blamed for fanning the flames of hatred by taking sides.

Football loving fans have words of praises for the Minister and team’s intervention in settling that  impasse which many believed would have led to a backlash in the country’s football had it not been for  Hon. Kemoh Sesay’s moves.

They further commended him for his timely intervention and called on him to replicate same to the entire football family to enhance the development of the game.

Several of those who spoke to this medium described Hon. Kemoh Sesay as a peace maker, patriot, a grassroot and developmental oriented politician while the   Port Loko descendants describe him as a man of the people.

Hon. Kemoh Sesay  is comparable to the Late Vice President, Sorie Ibrahim Koroma aka ‘Agba Sathani’ who immensely contributed to  the development of  Port Loko  District with his Self-Help projects that saw  the construction of the Port Loko Teachers College, the government hospital among other infrastructures in the district during his reign.

Through his leadership qualities, Hon. Kemoh Sesay is seen as a trailblazer of development and   in recent times, through his Godliness, agreed with Hon. Alpha Kanu to broker peace for the development of the District.

Some of the people stated that  Kemoh Sesay is a well respected leader in and out of Sierra Leone whilst  those   in Freetown expressed satisfaction over the manner in which he handled the two football master’s conflict and called him ‘Man of the People’ as his name has become a  household name in the district.

He has been a man of action through his empowerment of youths especially in the district; he has promoted several Sierra Leoneans educationally for self-reliance

Since his appointment as Minister of Public and Political Affairs,  he has made the Ministry become  more vibrant than before as he and  team in the likes of  Deputy Minister, Karamoh Kabba are  ever ready to bring peace and stability nationwide as their presence is always necessary in resolving conflicts like the Fourah Bay incident, the Ferry Junction  among others.

Hon. Kemoh Sesay is a peace maker and also commands respect amongst other party members because he can influence everybody through dialogue, counseling and other tools that would enhance peace and harmony in the society.

Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay was elected to Parliament in 1996 during which period  he was  immaculate and eloquent in debates,  attributes which  made the Port Loko people  re-elect him in 2002 during the Proportional  Representation  system  in which time he  contributed meaningfully in  developmental debaters in Parliament to enhance the development of the country more especially in relation to the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Togolese plane crash  chairing  and served   in several Parliamentary Oversight Committees.

And in 2007 when the electoral system was changed to Constituency basis, he was elected to Parliament again to represent Constituency 049 until President Ernest Bai Koroma appointed him Transport and Aviation Minister lasting for only eight months but due to the cocaine saga he was suspended and later appointed as Special Presidential Adviser in which appointment he made great impact and always in touch with his people.

When he was Minister of Transport and Aviation within the eight months, he transformed the eight sectors of that Ministry and was able to restore a quality human resource capacity.

Port Loko District being among the largest in the country goes in to celebration whenever Hon. Kemoh Sesay pays a visit to the township.

Residents  are  always ever ready to welcome him and his house will  full to capacity for various reasons either for   assistance,  pay respect to him for his peace overtures  and contribution  in the transformation  of   the district and the  PLTC which is now a  Polytechnic.

A resident in Port Loko revealed to this medium that Kemoh Sesay is the ‘real’ son of the soil with similar ideologies to that of late S.I. Koroma that has brought the poor some relief and contributed in the implementation of many infrastructural projects.

They said Kemoh Sesay has dished out many scholarships to various students from primary to University level, a development now providing many graduates from   colleges and Universities in Sierra Leone.

Amidu Sankoh, a resident in Port Loko earlier disclosed to this medium that most of the tangible projects in the district are machinated by Hon. Kemoh Sesay because of his hard work and love for his people.

Maada Konneh in Bo disclosed to this medium that he respects Hon. Kemoh Sesay for his courage stating that with all the political intimidation, turbulent and trials, yet he shows love and respect for everybody.

Although some describe him as a dictator due to his stance and policies relating to the involvement of everybody for democracy to prevail in their doings, as he displayed in the Maforki Chieftaincy issue, he has remained neutral and calm though others pointed finger at him typical of the Sierra Leonean as long as one is prominent and contributes in nation building people will always say negative things about.

Others acclaim Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay for being a good political guru.
