EPA Director expresses concern over land grabbing

Dr. Kolleh Bangura said the issue of land grabbing in Freetown had created an eye braw into the minds of people, especially the director of EPA, who spoke to this press that “land grabbing is indeed an issue that must be looked into. It is the Ministry of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment that should be taking actions against defaulters, but it seems like they are the one creating the problems,” said Dr. Bangura. He suggested for a National Protected Areas Authority to be established under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security which will have the power to take necessary actions against those land grabbers.

Dr. Bangura also highlighted areas of water catchment points as most people are now having interest on these areas, which he is frowning at, he noted that the Environmental Protection Agency is now ready to work more assiduously as they have been rated as the best Agency for last year.

In an inclusive interview with a trader Mr. Ibrahim Kamara how said the performance of the Environmental Protection Agency is impressive, according to him the EPA has promoted the ‘Agenda for Prosperity’ of the President.
