As Presidential Youth Aide exports agenda for prosperity President Koroma donates footballs to ECOWAS
Presidential Youth Aide Mr. Bai Mahmoud Bangura on Friday 11th April donated a quantum of footballs on behalf of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to the ECOWAS football team in Banjul, The Gambia.
The Presidential Youth Aide did the donation after attending the Francophone Youth Forum as the Secretary General of MRU Youth Forum.
Speaking during the programme that was organized by the ECOWAS football team and the Sierra Leone Football Team in the Gambia, the Head Coach of the ECOWAS Youth Football Team ,Mr. Sesay revealed that the ECOWAS football team comprise of nationals from the different countries in West Africa but because of the active nature of Sierra Leoneans they have got the leadership over the years.
He further noted that the Sierra Leoneans in the ECOWAS team have been doing well in the aspect of football .
The head coach further appealed to the President of Sierra Leone to give his support for the promotion of the team thinking of the fact that Sierra Leone has the biggest membership in the ECOWAS team. He said they have a lot of constraints ranging from balls, football kits. The Coach for the Sierra Leonean team in the Gambia also expressed his appreciation to the President for his support. He revealed that the Sierra Leone Football have been doing well over the years. He also noted that The Gambia Team has produced very hard working players for the national team and the under 20 team. He final appealed to the President through the PYA that the Sierra Leonean Team in the Gambia need support for the development of football and assured the PYA that they will continue to produce good players for the national Team.
Donating the footballs to the ECOWAS team, the young and articulate Presidential Youth Aide, Bai Mahmoud Bangura called on the ECOWAS team and the people of Sierra Leone to promote football
adding that the only Universal language in this world is football because the people can speak without barriers. He further maintained that football is the only unifying factor in the world because it brings people across the globe to a single platform.
The PYA also expressed that the President of Sierra Leone is a sports man who has dedicated his second term to the young people of Sierra Leone which is why he is the only President in Africa that has given so much to the young people citing key examples
