APC: Abhors Hate Speech
National Youth Secretary General of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC), Bai Mahmoud Bangura, has told a battery of journalists and cross sections of civil society activists in the signing of a hate speech communique that his party would stand giant in the fight against hate speech and its perpetrators.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Bangura explained to all present that he stands to represent the body and voice of his party, the APC and that the spate of hate messages is one his party will not tolerate as he said they are putting all effort to forestall those who will attempt to throw this country into another Rwanda/Kenya.
The Secretary General, maintained that to show how serious his party is in kicking out some traces of hate elements especially at a time many are pointing fingers of discord that some elements of regional and tribal imbalance are seen within the operations of certain political parties internal caucus, he said his government has tried to put on face value of national identity and character which is why their support base and political bigwigs stem from all corners of this country.
Mr. Bangura went further to cement the position of his government through pledging his unreserved support that his party will not only discourage hate content messages but will also deter all those who may attempt to sell out such uncouth messages.
