Congo Cross police engage heads of schools
The local unit commander at Congo Cross police division on 7th March, 2014 engaged heads of school at the police auditorium, According to the police communication and information officer Inspector Solomon Mansaray, he disclosed that the intention of inviting various school is to educate them as to how they should try by all means to actively advise their students to desist from any forms of violence in the forthcoming West African Senior Examination as schedule to take place this year. He maintained that all the invited schools are in a pilot phase which indicates that it is a routine base, others within their reach will also be invited. As of now, we only invited Vine Memorial Secondary School, Government Technical Secondary School, Methodist Girls High School, Sierra Leone Grammar School, West African Methodist Collegiate School and the Beheshti Islamic Secondary School adding that they should take the issue to the Sierra Leone Teachers Union for the sake of security because the rumors have an element of truth in that disgruntled students who do not qualify to take the examination are planning to go on the rampage on the day of the WASSCE exams, advising them to educate and sensitize their students so that they can prepare for the private WASSCE.
Noting some heads of school are of the opinion that the Minister of Education, Dr. Minkailu Bah, did not address the issue the way they want it, which will have help them to scrutinize their student.
