Mines minister supports construction projects in Sandor chiefdom

Kono, Feb. 21 (SLENA) –  The ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party deputy leader and also Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Minkailu Mansaray has provided financial assistance to  Member of Parliament of Constituency 23 in the Kono District to embark on massive construction projects  in the constituency, starting with Tefeya town, Dangbaidu Section in the Sandor Chiefdom.  Hon. Part of the funding will go to the construction of six blocks as living quarters for health workers employed at the Tefeya health center in his home chiefdom.

Speaking at the construction site over the weekend, Hon. Sourie said the six blocks will cost over 20 millions Leone, stating that as representative of his people in parliament, he decided to contribute to the development of the health sector as a direct response to the call by President Koroma, noting that by providing quarters, it will help alleviate the difficulties the nurses are faced with while administering health services to people in that part of the country.

In addition to the quarters at Tefeya, Hon. Sourie is also constructing four classroom blocks for a nursery school at Yormandu town in the same Sandor chiefdom, estimated at nineteen million leones (Le19 m) and assured that while he remains their MP he will construct feeder roads connecting his chiefdom.

The MP expressed profound thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources for his tremendous assistance to his construction projects.

The Councilor of Ward 68, Mrs. Matu Summa commended the MP for his development drive in the chiefdom, noting that access to health facility has been a major problem in the chiefdom.

 The Acting Chief at Tefeya, Sahr Osman while thanking the MP said for the past fifteen years, Hon. Sourie is the first Member of Parliament that has visited them and taken development to the constituency.
