SLFA – new chairman appointed

15th January 2014 – The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), which is responsible for administering association football in all forms, would like to inform football stakeholders and the general public that Ibrahim Sorie Kamara – President of OCTEA Mining Company has consented to serve as Chairman of the Premier League Board (PLB) for the 2014 football season.

Mr. Kamara, who had previously served as a member of the PLB has proven integrity while serving in the board and has vast knowledge in running the league as well as expertise in managing the resources of the PLB.

This decision is however subject to assent by the other members of the PLB who have been nominated by the SLFA and the 14 Premier League Clubs.

Other members of the board are; Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay – Chairman of Anti drugs FC, Idrissa M. Tarawalli – General Secretary Ports Authority FC, Kofie Deen Nyarkoh – Bo District Football Association Chairman, Victor Lewis – Publisher of the Spectator Newspaper and owner of first division club Belvic United, James J. Fofanah – National Teams’ Coordinator and Idriss Kamara Managing Director Sierra Leone Commercial Bank.

Meanwhile, the PLB will communicate the commencement of the league as soon as possible.
