Chinese Ambassador Zhao Yanbo Presents Letter of Credence to Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma
On 9th January, H. E. Mr. Zhao Yanbo, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Sierra Leone, presented the Letter of Credence to H. E. At the ceremony Ambassador Zhao says that China and Sierra Leone enjoy a deep-rooted friendship. Over the past forty years and more since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, both sides have carried out fruitful cooperation in political, economic, cultural and health fields and had mutual support and close cooperation in international affairs. As the new Chinese Ambassador, he will exert his best efforts and work closely with the Sierra Leonean side to cement and develop the friendly relations.
In his response, President Koroma welcomes Ambassador Zhao to assume his new post and said that China has been a great friend of Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone-China friendship is visibly demonstrated all over the country by appropriate Chinese built infrastructures. In recent years, this friendship is being enhanced by Chinese private sector investments in agriculture and mining. Sierra Leone are ready to seize the opportunities brought about by China’s peaceful rise to further strengthen bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between China and Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Zhao arrived in Freetown on 31st December, 2013 and presented the copy of his Letter of Credence to Foreign Minister Hon. Dr. Samura Kamara on 8th January, 2014.
