Emmerson`s new album on course to break record sales

Emmerson Bockarie`s new album, ‘Home and Away’, has sold over 56 thousand copies in less than a month after its release, SaloneJamboree has learnt.
The album which is the 5th for the ‘Borbor bele’ star sold 28 thousand copies in its first week of release, making it one of the fastest selling albums in Sierra Leone in recent times.
According to Amadu Jalloh, the official marketer for the Emmerson album in the country, the album is projected to sell more in the coming weeks. Jalloh told SaloneJamboree that these sales figures were mostly recorded in Freetown, Bo, Kenema and Kailahun.
When asked why the album is getting a ‘mad rush’, he said it`s because of the quality of the songs and that most people could relate to the message therein.
Jalloh also revealed to SaloneJamboree that Emmerson`s ‘Yesterday Bette Past Tiday’ album, which was the artist`s 3rd album, sold only 72000 copies in two years. ‘Home and Away’ is expected to break that record in less than two months, he added.
‘Home and Away’ was recently released on popular music websites ITunes and Salonetruefans.

Jalloh said the album is also on sale in Gambia, Nigeria, Liberia, UK and USA. Emmerson’s ‘Home and Away’ was released on Christmas Eve last year. The artist later told SaloneJamboree that he was inspired by current developments in his country to release it.
