School Principal to account for Le180 million

In an assembly, Evans International school children pray for God’s Intervention

School authorities and children of the Evans International High School in Calaba town, east of Freetown are reported to have raised concern on allegation that the former Principal of the school, Mr. Amos Fannah Kamara, has allegedly embezzled the whooping sum of one hundred and eighty million Leones (Le180,000.00) that was raised through school fees and other charges.

In a brief interview with the Vice Principal of the Evans International High School, Mr. Mathias Fayia, he stated that they became suspicious when they learned that Mr. Amos Fannah Bangura had established another private secondary school located just a few feet from their school.

He also stated that the pupils of this new school were even using a uniform that was similar in colour to their, which he noted was very bad as it may lead to a lot of confusion.

“My administration is not against any person or persons who desire to develop the positive mindset of the children of this country through education the manner of implementation of the intended desires should not be negative or offensive in a manner that will risk the state of these children whose characters need to be addressed,” Mr. Fayia explained.

He cited that recently a pupil was alleged to have been involved in a theft matter in which his pupils were embarrassed with accusations.

In a brief interview with the Head Boy of the Evans International High School, Jeromy Saffa, he said that the children of the school have registered their discomfort to the authorities of the school and asked them to address the issue of another school carrying their colour.

He said they also called on them to make Mr. Kamara account for the alleged missing funds.

When contacted to react to the allegations, Mr. Amos Fannah Kamara denied all the allegations levied against him by the authorities of Evans International High School.

Meanwhile the school authorities have now sought the services of a Lawyer while they have also made a report to the Anti Corruption Commission.
