Press release – National Campaign against Lawlessness-Sierra Leone

The National Campaign against Lawlessness-Sierra Leone (NACAL-SL) expresses dismay over the irresponsible and unprofessional ethical standards demonstrated by Messrs Jonathan Leigh and Bai Bai Sesay, the Managing Editor and Acting Editor respectively of the Independent Observer Newspaper in a recent publication referring to the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to a lower and destructive animal, “rat.”

Such a defamatory and malicious article has come at a time when the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) is pressing harder for a speedy enactment of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill in parliament.

NACAL-SL is therefore calling for a speedy and accountable dispensation of justice.
