Police assure security against terrorist attacks
2346 Sergeant Davies assigned to the Congo Cross Police Station, ‘C’ Division, has on Monday, October 28 this year, revealed that the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Francis Alieu Munu, has been working closely with all ranks within the Sierra Leone Police to enforce security and defense of the people of Sierra Leone against any terrorist attack.
Sergeant Davies who is Director of the Community Relations Department of the Congo Cross Police Station was reacting to concerns about threats of attacks from the Al Shabbab in Somalia.
He explained that the Inspector General of Police is pleased with the way and manner in which the Police are taking the Al-Shabbab threats with all seriousness.
He revealed that his department has a great role to sensitize the community people on the threat.
He noted that Banana Water, Oloshoro, Murray town, Cole Farm and Congo town communities are well informed about this threat.
A member of the public, Mr. Sheku Koroma who spoke to this Reporter on the matter, expressed thanks to the Community Relations Department of the Congo Cross Police Station in their sensitization, noting that even the Local Police Partnership Board is always in constant communication with the Community Watch.
