Kissy Police Traffic raise Le 263,250,000
The District Traffic Officer (DTO) of the Kissy Police Station, Inspector Victoria I. Sesay, has told Sierra Express Media that her department has collected the sum of Le 263,250,000.00.
In an exclusive interview with this paper she paid tribute to her personnel, namely, WPC 8678 Isatu Sesay, Sergeant 5627 S. Bundu, PC6488 F. Babadie, PC9560 F.B, Turay, PC9755 H. Kamara and Sergeant 6599 M.D. Sesay, who she said have been very instrumental in raising the money through fines accrued from road traffic offences from January 1 to July 31 this year.
She revealed that in January this year twenty 25 cases were convicted; 69 in February; 62 in March; 80 in June and 57 in July.
She explained that the monies are paid into Consolidated Revenue Fund which the Government uses to run the country.
She disclosed that most of the drivers they dealt with were arrested for failing to take passengers to their required destinations; failing to produce driving licenses on demand; driving unlicensed and uninsured vehicles; and using unauthorized routes.
