Seven steps to knowing God

If you already know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, or would like to know Him, then the following steps will clearly show how you can have a meaningful knowledge of God, bringing blessing to you now and eternal life in time to come.

Step 1: You must recognize that God loves you

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Step 2: Admit you need help

“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.” John 8:24.

Step 3: Believe that Jesus Christ is the only way

“I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.” John 14:6

Step 4: Receive Jesus Christ as your own Saviour

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” John 1:12

Step 5: Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is now your Lord and friend

“Ye are My friends, if ye do whatever I command you.” John 15:14

Step 6: Recognize you now belong to God’s family –the Church

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

Step seven: Commit yourself to serve the Lord: pray, read the Bible and witness for the Lord.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed in Him: “If ye continue in My word, then you are My disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:31-32.

“Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so I send you.” John 20:21

After reading these seven steps and you want to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, please read and say the following prayer aloud:

Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned and need Your forgiveness. I believe that Your Son the Lord Jesus Christ died for me on the cross and I am willing to repent and turn away from my sins. I now by faith invite the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal saviour and I am willing, by Your grace, to follow and obey Him as the Lord of my life. Amen.

After this confession is done sincerely in your heart, then the Holy Spirit will take over you and will become a new person and all old things will pass away.

As long as Jesus Christ is the centre of your life then the Holy Spirit will continue to guide you all the way.
