Weeyeh Janneh for Kono Diamond Dealers Chairman
Reports reaching this paper indicate that there have been wide spread calls from diamond dealers in Kono District for the Vice Chairman of the Kono Diamond Dealers Association, Mr. Weeyeh Janneh, to replace the current Chairman, Mr. Prince Kai Saquee.
According to several dealers this paper spoke to, they explained that Mr. Weeyeh Janneh has worked very hard to promote the good image of the association, arguing that he will do a lot more if he heads the group.
They disclosed that every year, during the month of Ramadan, Mr.Weeyeh Janneh normally assists his Muslim brothers and sisters with a lot of food and non- food items to help them keep the fast and conveniently observe the Eid ul Fitri.
They maintained that his relationship with the business community in Kono is very cordial.
They also revealed that he gives a lot of assistance to poor people and also gives scholarships to underprivileged school going children and college students, in appreciation of which he has been dubbed the ‘Poor man’s friend.’
