Kei’s Boro stalemate after keeper blunder
Tony Mowbray has paid tribute the Riverside faithful for their loyal support following another disappointing result Tuesday night. It was Ben Gibson’s first senior goal for Middlesbrough earned them a point against Huddersfield Town, cancelling out James Vaughan’s opener.
The Sierra Leonean striker was again in action after his fine start to life at the Riverside; however last night was dissatisfaction according to manager Tony Mowbray.
A result that leaves Middlesbrough with just one victory from 10 Championship fixtures so far this season; Mustapha Carayol and Kei Kamara both came close but bought good saves out of Alex Smithies in the Huddersfield goal.
Mowbray stated he understands the fans’ frustrations and is grateful for the support they are giving the team.
“I think the people who are coming to the games at the moment are what I would call true Boro fans,” he said.
Making his first home debut against Bournemouth, Kamara 29, has scored twice since his arrival at the Riverside from USA, a long way behind Jordan Rhodes and James Vaughan both leading Championship top scorers.
Boro 19th on the table and will take host Yeovil on Saturday 15.00 pm at their Riverside 35.000 stadium.
