The Station Sergeant of the B Divisional Headquarters, Traffic, Sergeant 6588 M.K. Mansaray, has disclosed to Sierra Express Media that up to 20 drivers are being charged to court on a daily basis for various offences ranging from half-way journeys, failing to affix seat belts, driving without drivers’ licenses, and failing to produce driving license on demand among other charges.
He explained that fines accrued from these offences are paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund which the Government uses to run the country.
He added that the District Traffic Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Akinbola, is a no-nonsense woman who is doing everything she can to project the good image of the Sierra Leone Police.
He also commended Police Constables 8542 I.B. Musa, 8530 M.S. Kamara and Bah are all working very hard to uplift the status of the B Division.
