Civil society expresses outrage over detention of female teacher

As Acting AIG, East detained sickly female teacher at the Ross Road police station, civil society groups planned to storm the said police station in angry protest.

Speaking to this press in tears, Madam Fatmata Bangura, a school teacher at the Rokel Community Primary School alleged that the Acting AIG, East, Mr. Alfred Karroo Kamara and his regional Superintendent of Police, Abu Sesay have both taken sides in a land dispute involving her and one Pa Basie Conteh of the same community.

According to a source, relatives of the detained teacher feel she is being bullied by the manner in which the AIG and his Superintendent intervened in the land dispute, taking sides.

Sister of the detained teacher, Madam Mabinty Kargbo said her sister Fatmata Bangura has been in detention for over 72 hours even though she was on her sick bed.
