Lime Line boost Kent Cricket Club with 9 million Leones

The money was given for the inaugural pair cricket competition for U-12 boys which has been slated for 6-14 September 2013 and the competition will be played in Prince of Wales and St Edwards Secondary School grounds. The theme for the tournament is”Catch them young”.
The Managing Director of Lime Line, Foday Sankoh, handed over the cheque to the CEO of the club Emmanuel Pessima at their Howe Street Office in Freetown.
He said it is a unique privilege for his company to participate in the development of youth involved in sport, ‘we want to help them to realize their dreams as sport personnel,” Sankoh noted.
He maintained that he was impressed with the bold step taken by Kent Cricket Club to organized pair cricket competition for the first time in the history of the game in Sierra Leone.
He guaranteed that the company is ready to support the club for the success of the competition. He called on internet users to utilize Lime Line services which will enable the company to contribute immensely to promote cricket in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of Kent Club, Emmanuel Pessima, upon receiving the cheque lauded Lime Line for its generosity. He said the money would be used for its intended purpose. He explained that the rules for this tournament are very simple, placing the emphasis on fun and fellowship and encouraging young people to take up the game adding that there are six participating teams, all named after individuals who have supported the development of cricket in Sierra Leone. Abdul Tejan-Cole (Sierra Leone), Stuart Bentham (United Kingdom), Peter Wellings (United Kingdom), Mark Demos (United State of America, Darren Talbot (United Kingdom) and Martin Michael (Sierra Leone)
Games will be played on a round robin basis in the group stage, culminating in a grand final and a third place play off.
UK based Twenty 20 Cricket Company, a proud partner of the Kent Cricket Club, has provided 45 medals plus 10 trophies for the tournament.
