As Usu Boie donates Le 5m – new market for Deep Eye Water

Headman for Deep Eye Water community, Alhaji Ibrahim Sesay, on Wednesday August 28th, revealed at a community meeting that no more time would be wasted to officially open the market for traders to commence business in the well planned makeshift- market structure, as the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara has intervened with a Le 5 million donation; and the market will be launched on September 15th, he further revealed,  audaciously.  (Photo: Headman Alhaji Ibrahim Sesay verifying the traders)

The Headman called on the traders, especially those who have secured tables, to start occupying their tables after that meeting, adding that he wanted to also make provision for those who had not got space to trade. He assured his people that the money from the Trade Minister would be spent on the toilet facility to make traders and customers comfortable.  Pa Sesay commended the Minister, noting that he has demonstrated that he has his community in heart by providing the money for the benefit of the community.

Youth Chairman for Deep Eye Water, Ishaka Sesay, in an interview with this press, noted that the delay in launching the market is as a result of the facilities they want to provide for the market such as toilet and pipe-borne water, which he said, have already been achieved with the effort of the Headman.  He expressed the need for micro-credit facilities to be extended to Deep Eye Water traders just like how other market traders are benefitting.  He described the meeting as successful being that the traders unanimously agreed to the date slated for the official launching of the market on September 15th.

He said the community needs attention in terms of electricity and roads considering its close proximity to the capital city of Freetown.

Mrs. Hawa Turay is a trader who has not yet secured a selling space. She told this press that they would continue to pray so that the micro-credits are taken them. She expressed relief and her satisfaction in the intervention of Usu Boie, noting that they hope he would do more for them in that community.
