Moved by the general set up of the factory, the minister extolled management for maintaining a healthy, safe and conducive work place.  He revealed that Shankadas is the most organized factory he has visited during the course of his tour and  encouraged other manufacturers to emulate the good example of Shankadas.

Alhaji Boie Kamara noted that he is embarking on such  familiarization visits with a bid to obtain first hand knowledge of  various operations in the country.  He added that by so doing, government will be able to assess the strength and witnesses of manufacturers operating in Sierra Leone.

The minister furthered that his visit is also aimed at cross-checking industrial licenses and tax payments and also to assess the employers and workers relationship.

The minister entreated the management to insist on training local staff on the new technologies that are in use in the various factories. He pointed that by doing so, local staff will be able to operate in the absence of expatriate staff.

The Trade Minister revealed that government is concerned with the establishment of new industries so that more jobs will be created to salvage the perennial unemployment rate in the country.

The Minister and entourage were taken on a conducted tour of the factory.
