SKM Sierra Leone equips 16 Community Based Organizations
Society for Knowledge Management Sierra Leone (SKM-SL) has equipped a total of sixteen participants from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Community Based Organizations and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), with information on knowledge sharing, at a one day workshop held recently and sponsored by Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA).
The participants were taught about records management as a process of ensuring the proper creation, maintenance, use and disposal of records to achieve efficient, transparent and accountable governance in Sierra Leone.
Coordinator of SKM-SL , Sahid Kamara told the participants that sharing information appropriately and securely is a vital step in helping organizations work together to deliver better services to the public.
The Director of SKM-SL, Umarr Bangura also underscored that the training workshop was derived from the recently launched Knowledge Bank in their offices in Freetown and Magburaka in the Northern Province. He commended OSIWA for funding of the knowledge bank project which he described as a step in the right direction in assisting civil society and other organizations in the country.
