Gem Stars will lift 2013/14 premiership trophy Hon. Konuwa predicts
The godfather and Chairman of Gem Stars FC, Hon. Francis Amara Konuwa, has boasted that he has the best players who have the talent and capability to clinch the 2013/2014 premier league trophy.
He was speaking at the team’s training ground in Tongo before the commencement of the league. He showered praise on the technical crew headed by coach Christian Cole, the officials, fans and the sponsors of the team, the Octea Mining Company for the pivotal role they have played in promoting the team to an admirable height.
The team is currently occupying joint top spot with 4 points after defeating Bo Rangers 2-0 at the Bo Coronation Field and drawing 0-0 with the defending champions, Diamond Stars in Tongo. The team will engage RSLAF in their third encounter on Wednesday, 10th July at the Wusum Ground in Makeni.
Yesterday’s match between FC Kallon and Central Parade that was to be played at the Football Academy at Kingtom was aborted due to torrential rain.
