Bai Bureh Warriors of Port Loko got off the hook with a 3-0 win over Diamond FC of Bo at the Magbruka Town field in the early kick-off of the day.
An early goal from Mohamed Medo Bangura put the Warriors ahead before winger Foday Sesay’s brace in both half of the match, sealed the win for the Port Loko giant who proved to be stronger than their opponent.
The second match in the day posed another thrilling encounter as Real Republicans overpowered Kawula FC of Kenema 4-1.
Despite the waterlog pitch, The Soccer Ambassadors Real Republicans out played their opponent and in the first 20 minutes, secured the opener through Alimamy Sesay, before Brima Ajina Sesay doubled the lead to 2-0 in the first half.
Both Patrick Stevens and Issa Sesay Jr. came in as substitutes to score a header and a clinical finish respectively, thereby sealing the win for Republicans despite Kawula pulling a goal back.
The same day in Makeni, Gem Stars of Tongo move at the top of group A after securing a 2-0 win over Wanjama Stars and earlier in this group Makeni based Al-Thabanban held FC Johansen to a goalless draw.
In today’s action, Wanjama Stars will take on Al-Thabanban in the early kick-off in Makeni whilst Buck FC will entertain FC Johansen at the same venue in the second kick-off.
In Magbruka, the early kick-off will be Kawula FC and Anti-Drugs FC, whilst Diamond FC will take on Dalarosa in the second match.
