RSLAF: From Mass Retirement to Mass Promotion
Twenty-two senior officers of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) are reported to have been promoted following the recent mass retirement of overdue senior officers.
Defence sources say it has pleased the President of Sierra Leone and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to promote seven Lieutenant-Colonels to the Colonels and fifteen Majors to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonels. The Lieutenant-Colonels promoted to Colonels are H.S Jomo. M.O Mansaray, A.Y Kargbo, Salieu Kanu, P.K Lavahun, A.M Koroma and Dr. S. Sahr.
Those promoted from Major to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel are, H.S Coomber, S.S Massaquoi, J.M Lukay, S.D Thomas, B.A.L Sesay, C. Brewah, J. John, S.M Bangalie, P.Juana, S. Saquee, K.T Sesay, T.M Brimah, A. Jusu, A. Bangura and Kelfala, aka K.K.
The mass promotion is reported to have sent many families into a frenzy of jubilation.
