ONS donates food and building materials to storm victims

The donation included 66 bundles of zinc and 33 50kg bags of rice which were distributed to the 33 out of the 50 households affected.
The government delegation was headed by the Minister of State to the office of the Vice President, Harriet Turay (Ms), the Kailahun District Council delegation was headed by the District Council Chairman, Alex Bonapha while the Director of Disaster Management office in Freetown was led by Miss Mary Kamara, all of who made meaningful contributions during the handing over of the donated items to the affected people.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Abu Jajua thanked the ONS for helping victims of Wards 24 and 25 in his constituency.
He said when he visited the scene of the disaster, he took some photographs of the affected houses and immediately posted them on the Segbewema Development Association web and other blogs so that their brothers and sisters who live outside chiefdom will be informed and come to the aid of the affected communities.
Hon. Jauja expressed appreciation of the donation through the ONS to the chiefdom committee and advised that in future any humanitarian assistance channeled through the chiefdom committee so that the chiefdom will recognize the gesture.
