Minister Receives Saudi University Professor

Thursday June 13, 2013 – The Minister of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, Mr. Moi Jui Kai Kai received Professor Dr Alie Ibrahim Azahraani of the Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia in his New England office in Freetown.  Mr. Kai Kai welcomed the Dr Alie and promised to give his fullest support to the university’s activities in Sierra Leone whenever the need arises.  As there is no conducive place for Salaah in the ministry as at now; the minister asked Professor Dr Alie Ibrahim Azahraani to establish an Islamic centre or a place of prayer for the Muslims working in the ministry.  “You can even affiliate the Islamic University with the University of Sierra Leone (USL) and Njala University”, Mr. Kaikai suggested.   (Photo: L  R Sh Baghawi Mansaray, Sh M.A.Z. Dr Alie in his response assured the minister that he will do his best to make sure that the minister’s appeal is addressed when he returns to Medina next week.  Dr Alie said that in order to fast track this plan let things be done formally between the government of President Ernest Bai Koroma and that of King Abdullah bun Abdul Aziz of the Kingdom Saudi Arabia. “The Embassy of Sierra Leone in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can easily facilitate that in the interest of our two countries”, Dr Zahraani added.

Members of the Sierra Leone Muslim Missionaries Union that were in the company of Dr. Alie Ibrahim Azzahrani were: Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Zakki Kallon, President of SLMMU Sheikh Baghawi Mansaray, Dr Alie Zahraani, Dr Ahmad Ramadan Jalloh, Dr. Muhammad Ramadan Jalloh and Sheikh Alie Kallay.
