Prostituting National Items
A passport is a national item meant for honest citizens, not for international fraudsters. Being a sacred national document, our passport must not be desecrated for commercial or other reasons.
But we keep wondering why our passport has become a prostitute, accessible to every Jack and Jill. The immigration department must come out and tell this nation how our passports find their way in the hands of non-naturalized foreigners who should have no business with it. It goes without saying that many aliens are bearing our national passport oftentimes to achieve their criminal objectives.
We are, however, not surprised because if our national flag can be defiled, then what else cannot be bastardized. Sometime ago, our national flag was caught hoisted on a ship heading for war-torn Syria and government did little or nothing to investigate the matter and bring culprits to justice. If ever it did, we did not hear of it publicly.
We have also been hearing of certain statesmen selling our passports and we have also been receiving report of foreigners caught in other countries illegally bearing our passport. Such confirmed reports point to the fact that our national items remain unprotected, so, government must do something to protect them from criminals who use them for diabolic purposes.
