The Hotel Africanus CEO made his debut with a collaboration song ‘One Love’, with Diamond Saj. Ever since then the musician went on to record hits with major Sierra Leonean artists and performed at several sold out shows including last year’s AWOL performance in front of President Koroma. He is today regarded as one of the leading Sierra Leone acts.
Several of his fans trouped in at Shangrila for his VIP concert. The musician performed with a live musical band of his hits songs including, ‘E dae Insai me’, ‘Tranga Hase Borbor’, and ‘Na Lie’.
The entrance fee for the VIP concert was $70 ordinary and $50 dollars for children.
Entertainment pundits say this is the highest amount a Sierra Leonean artist has raked as entrance for a single concert.
One observer said this is a good sign for the music industry.
“Many international artists have performed at VIP concerts in Sierra Leone but few have been able to collect that amount at gate taking. Nasser Ayoub has set that record,’’ he said.
The artist which is yet to release an album is believed to have generated over $5000 dollars from last weekend concert. Other artist who performed includes, Star Zee, Bubba, and Dallas B.
The show was anchored by AIT first lady, Phebe Swill.
