In an exclusive interview with Sierra Express Media, the company’s Corporate Communications Officer (CCO), Tunde Oladipo of Nigeria, informed that they are now installing a cement processing plant at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay in Freetown, where they will start operation very soon. He revealed that they participated in the recent trade fair at the National Stadium, organized by the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce. This, he noted, was to manifest their loyalty to the country and to express their readiness to work in concert with the Chamber of Commerce, though they used the occasion to advertise the company.

Tunde Oladipo stated that the company has its philanthropic wing called Dangote Foundation which is responsible for its Corporate Social Responsibility.  He informed that Dangote Foundation has been active in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility within and outside the shores of Sierra Leone, intervening in flooding areas to provide relief for victims of natural disaster.  He added that the foundation has also been improving health care delivery system and providing safe drinking water for needy people.

  • It is significant that Mr Tunde stressed that the company are not in Sierra Leone to exploit the country. This is an immense leap in our commerce and industry profile. Our duty will now be not to set about exploiting this company in any way. Hard work, responsible loyalty to the employers, and honesty at all times should be the order of the day. We must be seen to be serious workers in industry to succeed. I congratulate the Chamber of commerce for this development.
