Le 20m for APC aspirant

Young legal luminaries have pledged Le20 million to support their colleague lawyer, Osman Timbo who has vied for the Western Area Regional Youth Chairmanship of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) in the party’s coming National Delegates Convention, May 2013.

The group of young lawyers were led by AWOL’s 2012 award winning lawyer, Solomon Kabba Koroma.

Speaking at the well attended ceremony at the APC National Office at Railway Line, Freetown, past Tuesday, in the presence of top party officials, youths and women, Mr. Koroma pointed out that the large turn out of lawyers rallying round Osman Timbo is a clear manifestation of the fact that the APC is full of valuable human resource, contrary to widespread rumours, circulated by detractors, that the party is full of mediocre and stark illiterate people. He noted that, as lawyers, they have been doing much for the party including the provision of free legal services for several party supporters when necessary.

Lawyer Koroma called on the delegates to vote overwhelmingly for Mr. Timbo who he described as a friend of the grass root people, especially the youths.

The aspirant, Lawyer Timbo, maintained that he has contested to contribute to the promotion of the party to a more admirable point. He referred to the youths as the driving force of the party and vowed to give them more voice if elected, pledging to continue supporting the party even if he loses the election.

Councilor for Ward 376 in Constituency 106, A.B. Nylander-Kargbo chaired the occasion.
