Bo becomes hoarding headquarters in Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone’s second capital city, Bo, is reported to have become the headquarters for the massive fuel hoarding that now characterizes the country.
Many of the residents have reported to this press that the city is now being proliferated by illicit fuel dealers who retail hoarded petrol and other fuel products at cut-throat prices right at fuel stations in the full glare of the police who turn a blind eye to the hoarders.
It has been further reported that the rampant hoarding has been largely responsible for the sporadic petrol queues and the skyrocketing transport fares that keep inflicting financial burden on the residents of the city.
Fuel dealers in the city have complained that the activities of the hoarders have been severely sabotaging their legitimate businesses for which they pay tax to government.
On seldom occasions, the police officers arrest the illicit fuel dealers but the dealers are released for unknown reasons and are allowed to continue their illegitimate trade with gross impunity.
Bo residents are calling on government to timely intervene to save them from the massive exploitation they are now suffering from dishonest and illegal dealers who keep creating artificial fuel scarcity to enrich themselves at the detriment of the masses.
