Against Sports Minister… big demo at State House
Hundreds of fanatic supporters of the National Team, Leone Stars, have vowed to march to State House in a peaceful protest against the reappointment of Paul Kamara (in photo) as Minister of Sports.
According to the aggrieved supporters, Paul Kamara is not only woefully incompetent but also very racist. They accused the reappointed Sports Minister of fostering enmity and disunity within the football family, further accusing him of politicizing football in this nation.
The disgruntled supporters also alleged that Paul Kamara has a history of accusing football officials, coaches and players of match fixing without supporting his accusation with evidence, a situation which provoked widespread discontentment in the football family.
The aggrieved supporters recalled that during the campaign for the presidency of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Honorable Kamara clearly manifested his racist tendencies by publicly declaring support for the black candidate against the white. It is also reported that Paul Kamara has banned all sports journalists in Sierra Leone from having accreditation to watch international matches.
Worst of all, Paul Kamara’s continuous interference with selection of players is said to be the major reason why the Head Coach, Lars Olof Mattsson resigned, a resignation which has sparked mass resentment among football supporters who are now planning a big demonstration to tell President Koroma that they are disappointed by his reappointment of Paul Kamara as Sports Minister.
Meanwhile, Paul Kamara is yet to respond to the allegations of the aggrieved football supporters.
