SLPP Detractors Rampage
One major factor that dwindles the morale of the Sierra Leonean journalists is the lack of substantial evidence that qualifies a fair reportage. On several occasions reports emerging from various local tabloids are being contested and in most cases trashed by parties involved in the reports. (Photo: Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara)
The front page headline and follow up story in one of the local tabloids of 14th March captioned ‘Mumu ministers…’ is widely considered to be a charade of the writer’s fickle imagination and was therefore debunked by various quarters of the citizenry that were interviewed by this medium. The content of that front page story is deemed malicious and deliberately orchestrated to distract the attention the astute and focused government ministers from performing important function geared towards national prosperity.
The Ministers that were referred to ‘Mumu Ministers’ in the scathing publication are considered to be a contradicting notion and especially that of the trade minister in the person of Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara who has spent tireless efforts round the clock to expunge the challenges of his ministry with a view to correcting the itches and maintain a viable government institution.
Usu Boie as the minister is fondly called has taken the bull by the horn to see that he succeeds in his endeavor to change the face of a viable entity that has been entrusted to him as his ministry is faced with the daunting task of providing basic amenities of life for the people of this country.
Usu Boie is currently traversing the length and breath of the country, meeting with various groups including the private sector to regularize the skyrocketing prices of basic commodities all in the interest of his compatriots. It has however been confirmed that there are a few detractors from the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) who are aggrieved with the cross-carpeting of Usu Boie and a host of others from the SLPP to the ruling APC party and are bent on distracting the ministers from their stewardship.
