Kono city will soon start enjoying good roads
In a bid to improve on the infrastructural development on the Agenda for Prosperity, Deputy Minister of Works, Abdul B. Barrie has assured the people of Kono that very soon they will start enjoying good roads in Koidu city.
He made this pronouncement during an inspection tour of the work with officials of the Ministry and the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) in order to inspect and assess the recent work and equipment of the new company, Well-Guico, a Sierra Leonean-Guinean company.
Mr. Barrie said he was quite impressed with the equipment so far brought in by the company, adding that he has no doubt that they would soon complete the work and meet the expectation of the Kono people by December 2013.
He assured the people that Well-Guico is a well established company in West Africa with a wealth of experience in road construction.
The Managing Director of the company, Sahr Ngebga said they have completed 80% of the major concrete work, drainages and culverts, noting that soon Kono will benefit from the major Kainkordu Road on the project list.
He said all major equipment for the maintenance work has arrived and is based in Kono.
