Parliament approves new appointees

Freetown, March  (SLENA): The house of parliament has approved another batch of ministers, deputy ministers and heads of various public institutions in the country.

Presenting the appointees, the majority leader of parliament, Hon. SBB Dumbuya disclosed that the approved nominees were interviewed based on their educational background, track records tax obligations and work experience.

The nominees include  Peter B. Conteh, the new Tourism and Culture minister, Justice Victor Thomas as Supreme Court Judge, Kemoh  Sesay as Minister of Political Affairs, Ishmeal Al Sankoh, deputy minister of Sport and Feremusu Conteh, deputy minister of Youth Affairs.

In his contribution, Hon. Benneh Bangura commended President Koroma for nominating well qualified Sierra Leoneans to serve the country.

Hon. Mohamed Lamin Mansary of Constituency 47 noted that the Minister of Tourism will perform well as he is a man of integrity and a man who is ready to serve his country, Sierra Leone.

Hon. Trawalley of Bo expressed appreciation of the nomination Al Sankoh as deputy minister of  sport, describing him as a hard working youth activist  who actively championed youth issues in the country.

While both leaders of the house commended the approved nominees and urged them to work in the interest of the country, the Speaker of the House, Justice Abel Strong congratulated the approved nominees and wished them well in their respective areas of responsibilities.
