MP’s hold reconciliation meeting

The Honorable member of parliament of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) for constituency 13 who doubles as Minority Leader of parliament Hon. Bernadette Lahai and the Honorable of parliament of SLPP constituency 14 Hon. Francis Konuwa over the weekend held a reconciliation meeting in Konia Kpindima Gbo section Lower Bambara Chiefdom Kenema district eastern Sierra Leone.

In his opening remarks Hon. Francis Konuwa welcomed all present and condemned all violence caused in the past and called on the people of Gbo section that the time of politics  is over and that the community members should work together in bringing development in the Gbo section . He pleaded to the people of Konia Kpindima not to repeat the unfortunate story that occurred to Hon. Bernadette Lahai on December 28th 2012 and called on the perpetrators to forget about the past and turn over to a new paper for the development of the community and Sierra Leone.

The Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Tongo Division chief superintendent Theophanous Senesie admonished the people of Gbo section to change their attitude and commit to development.

The Honorable member of constituency 14 Hon. Francis Konuwa paid compensational fees of Le 500,000 to two people whose houses were damaged during the conflict while the Hon. Bernadette Lahai took the responsibility of the rehabilitation of the Gbo secondary school and the town Barrie which cost Le18 milion and the perpetrators were asked to pay Le5 million for the burnt Victor motor bike .
