Islamic Workshop Ends
The Women’s Wing of the Voice of Islam held a two-day workshop at their Bai Bureh Road office in Freetown. The topic of the workshop was The Importance of Islamic Education.
According to the President of the Women’s Wing, Haja Mariama Fadika, the purpose of the workshop was to educate women on Islamic activities such as spiritual bathing and parent-child relationship.
One of the facilitators, Doctor Ibrahim Kamara, stated that the aim of educating the children is for parents to have good children that are dedicated to the code of practice of Islam. “The power of a man lies on a good wife,” he stressed.
Another facilitator, Sheik Abdulai Mohamed, quoted the Holy Prophet Mohamed as saying that seeking knowledge is compulsory for all Muslim men and women, emphasizing that Islamic education is important in everything.
