Professor Parrot with Joseph Milton Lebbie
Desecrating a Royal Name – Parrot strongly believes that the name, Queen, is a royal name, and therefore should not be defiled with impunity. So, the garrulous bird is indescribably shocked to hear that the Paramount Chief of Marampa, Bai Koblo Queen, has made it an occupation to be embezzling funds meant for the general good of his subjects. Imagine how Queen Elizabeth will feel to hear that a chief bearing her royal name is a master-embezzler; Her Majesty will surely weep.
So, PC Queen must realize that he is carrying a very honorable nomenclature and therefore he should not be in an embezzlement scandal. Royal names must behave nobly, not ignobly.
The Blind Man and the Chief – Nosy Parrot has eavesdropped a drama unfolding at Sumaila Town involving a chief and a very famous blind star over a community water well. The palaver has made the chief totally confused and frustrated. Well, Parrot has just got one side of the story from the aggrieved chief who has reported that the blind icon is hell-bent on inflicting drought on the residents of that community by insisting on closing up the only water well in the area for his sole comfort. However, Parrot will never trust the single-sided until he dialogues with the blind icon who he knows to be a gentleman.
Four Wise Sayings – The erudite Parrot is celebrating his birthday today in grand style . He has therefore deemed it friendly to entertain readers with the following four witty expressions:
- An anthill which does not want to be trodden upon must not bear edible mushrooms.
- The wise who fail to participate in politics will have the punishment of being governed by fools.
- If you have nothing to do with politics, politics has something to do with you.
- When survival is at stake, morality takes a secondary position.
