Over Wilkinson Road Streetlight…Citizens Call for Probity

Reports gathered indicate that the Wilkinson Road streetlight project, has become the subject of a much heated debate over reckless spending of tax payers monies.

The much talked about contract awarded to an Indian firm named Angelic Group of Company’s last year, which aroused allegations from various sectors in society that President Koroma’s sister Admire, owns a stake in that company, thereby influencing the contract has being gathering widespread criticism amongst city dwellers the report leaks.

As the company manages to reach the first stage of executing the project, words of bullet have been coming from several quarters of society, critiquing their best for the worst.

The product of the solar light installed at the Wilkinson Road appeared so dim that one would have preferred swopping God’s natural moonlight to the one which amounted in the tune of over Le 30bilion, dished-out as a contractual agreement.

The contract, which is said to have being awarded back in 2009, is a make-way to ensure that major streets in Freetown and headquarter towns in the country benefit from improved infrastructural services. It now appears in the eyes of the ordinary man that such a contract was deliberately flawed with the aim to stupefy people all in the name of beautifying the country.

Many did not write-off the idea of developing the nation but stress that using state resources with the intent to spend recklessly in order to collect kick-backs behind the scene is no longer tolerable. The report also turned out that many voiced that it is now a ploy by certain bigwigs in state offices that defrauding state resources comes in the name of social-governmental projects…
