NMYCW Sierra Leone ends 19 Days Activism

Network Movement for Youth and Children’s Welfare Sierra Leone (NMYCW-SL) has concluded nineteen days activism on issues affecting young people and children in the country.

The 19 days activism campaign was launched on November 1st 2012 at the Kroobay Community in Freetown, in commemoration of International Children’s Day which fell on November 20th.

NMYCW-SL Coordinator, Hajie Bah had informed that 19 various abuses including child labour, malnutrition, abduction, pornography and child sex tourism formed part of the 19 days activism NMYCW-SL alongside its partners, including Culture Radio, Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and ActionAid are campaigning against in the country.

Hajie confirmed to this press that they were having dialogue forums in three strategic communities such as Mabela, Dwarzark and Kroobay communities in the Western Areas as part of their activism to prevent abuse and violence against children and youth in Sierra Leone.
