Women in Action Mentor on Virtuousness
Women in Action Vocational Institute on Saturday 3rd November, 2012 held a breakfast seminar with students in a bid to train and sensitize them on how to live as full grown women for sustainable livelihood and the development of their respective homes.
The head girl of the school, Leonora Cole, expressed delight in the process as it also geared towards promoting the middle level manpower skills in the country and therefore commended the National Coordinator Mrs. Esther Fatu Kanu for her brilliant effort in helping the growth of Mama Salone.
According to Madam Esther Fatu Kanu, it has been her dream to help girls to be self reliant noting that for the past sixteen years her school had been doing well in terms of excellent performances and therefore she appealed for donor support to facilitate her ambition in promoting the girl child.
The principal of the school Mr. Osman Sorie also disclosed his challenges in fostering middle level manpower skills training. As most students are childbearing mothers and some are married, he sees this as a Herculean task in maintaining professionalism.
The Rev. Jane Bangura who gave the keynote address entreated the young girls to maintain their womanhood as the ancient books of the Holy Bible laid emphasis in a virtuous woman. She further beseeches the young ladies to emulate the footsteps of a virtuous woman, noting that it is a pride to them.
