Le614.75 Million Fraudster in Court
Mustapha Koroma of 91b Regent Road appeared before Magistrate Manuella Harding of Court No.6 on one count of fraudulent conversion contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (b) of the larceny act of 1916,
The particulars of offense read that Mustapha Koroma on 12 February 2012 allegedly defrauded one Mohamed Papso Kamara of 29 Easton Street by converting to his own or benefit:
- Volvo car
- Mitsubishi Gallant
- KIA Sedona van
- 4 barrels of laptops, cameras, mobile phone and Ipods
- 20 barrels of provisions
- 4 barrels of toiletries
- 7 barrels clothing (shirts and trousers)
- 32 carpets valued
- 4 King Size and 3 kid size mattresses
- 180 doors
- Five 50” plasma TVs
- 220 assorted cartoons of drinks
- 80 cartons of cereal
- 20 cartons of diapers
- 30 Colman
- One deep freezer
- 5 Bedroom fridges
- One t-shirt printer machine
- One cap printer machine
- 5 cartons of computer printers
- 4 Bottle freezers
- One set of sitting room chairs
- One set of dining chairs
- 10 big bags of used clothing
- 5 big baby toys
All to a total value of Le 614.75 M entrusted to the plaintiff by the complainant herein for the purpose of safe keeping.
During cross-examination by defense counsel Emmanuel Teddy Koroma, the accused Mustapha Kamara denied all the allegations, stating that he only saw two cars loaded on the containers and he is not aware of any other items in the allegations. The accused was granted bail and the matter adjourned to November 12.
