Grand conspiracy against fair polls in 2023!

Confidential sources in the respective government institutions have intimated Sierra Express Media of a grand plan to conduct parliamentary and presidential elections in very dubious and stage-managed circumstances.

The sources disclose that a well-coordinated and carefully orchestrated scheme is in the offing to ensure that very few people in the north and north-west regions are eligible to cast their ballot in the 2023 polls.

“This master plan is executed by two institutions including the National Commission for Civil Registration (NaCRA) and the Department of Births Deaths”, a credible source in the Paopa Administration divulged.

The source further said that these two institutions are under high profiled instructions to generate selective data for use by the National Electoral Commission (NEC) in the 2023 elections.

“That is why the on-going civil registration exercise in the north and north-west regions is calibrated to capture the barest minimum numbers, unlike in the south and eastern regions”, the source further clarified, adding that the idea is to capture more registered voters in the strongholds of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party than in parts of the country dominated by the opposition.

Working hand-in-glove with NaCRA, is the Department of Births and Deaths, which is deliberately remote-controlling the production of Birth Certificates required at NaCRA for the issuance of national identity cards.

“The rigorous screening at the department of Births and Deaths is meant to identify northerners and north-westerners and make it practically impossible for them to obtain a birth certificate”, said an official at the Department, adding that their data is synchronised with that of NaCRA for eventual use by NEC.

“To get a birth certificate now-a-days is not only exorbitantly expensive, but also very complicated and rigorous” said Ms Juliana, who needed a birth certificate for her cousin.

An official at NEC hinted that the likelihood of conducting voter registration for the elections in 2023 is very remote, adding that NEC might rely on exclusive data from NaCRA that favours the ruling party.
