UDM Making Inroads in Constituency 100
A female contestant for the United Democratic Movement (UDM) in Ward 359 Constituency 100, Alberta J.E. Thompson is said to be making inroads for her candidature as well as the party ahead of the soon to come Local Government and other Multi-tier elections.
Miss Alberta as fondly called, has tilted her campaign strip-line to sustainable development, enhanced youth employment, and capacity building through community awareness and participation.
The UDM Iron lady and local council aspirant told this press that she has gone ahead to identify the heap of inadequacies that has led to the backwardness in community development. She highlighted among others, health and sanitation, training and capacity building for the youth, employment opportunities and infrastructural rehabilitation, etc.
As the sole female candidate for the position of local government councilor in the ward, Miss Alberta pointed out that as an activist, she will use her acumen to lobby for necessary logistic and financial support to carry out initiated projects that will enhance the livelihood of her community members. The confident and hopeful middle aged woman reiterated that she had made a hallmark in fostering growth in the ward with the help of the city council. Miss. Alberta further boasted that her UDM party is a disciplined political party and therefore entreated citizens to observe a free, fair and non-violent election. She then urged her women folks to turn out in numbers and vote her into the city council as she quoted “try women in politics and sense the difference in achievements”.
